Text → Macros
Premium
Type or dictate a meal description, review the estimate, then log — useful when there is no barcode and you don’t want to search item by item.
Text → Macros turns a sentence into a draft meal. It is the fastest path when you know what you ate but don’t want to search five separate foods.
Log from a description
- Open Nutrition and tap a meal.
- Choose Text → Macros.
- Type or dictate something like
chicken thigh, 200g rice, broccoli, olive oil. - Review the foods and quantities Hammr found.
- Edit anything that’s off, then log.
Be specific about amounts when you know them. “A big burrito” works; chipotle chicken burrito bowl, brown rice, black beans, cheese, salsa is better.
Combine with a photo
If you have both a picture and a description, photo plus text usually beats either alone. Use Photo → Macros and mention sauces, oils, or drinks in text.
Siri
You can log a quick meal through Siri & Shortcuts without opening the full Nutrition tab. Detailed edits still happen in the app.
