Why targets changed
Premium
Tap Why targets changed to see the locked Adaptive Decision: recovery, weight sparkline, TDEE, and the calorie/macro deltas for today.
When Adaptive Macros are on, rings on Nutrition are today’s numbers, not a static plan from onboarding. Why targets changed is the receipt.
Open the explainer
- Open Home or Nutrition.
- Tap Why targets changed (also labeled on the Adaptive Targets / Nutrition Coach surfaces).
- Read the breakdown: recovery band, weight sparkline, TDEE comparison, and the calorie / macro deltas versus baseline.
You should see the same locked decision that Home’s coach plan, Nutrition rings, and Apple Watch Nutrition tab use. Hammr does not keep a separate “secret” target per screen.
How to read it
| You see | What it means |
|---|---|
| Recovery band | Overnight Recovery (not Readiness) nudged protein/carbs/calories |
| Weight sparkline | 28-day trend from logged weigh-ins |
| TDEE | Formula estimate vs measured intake + weight change |
| Deltas | Today versus your baseline macros, inside safety caps |
Examples:
- Poor recovery → protein up, carbs trimmed.
- Cut + weight not dropping → slight calorie reduction.
- Cut + losing too fast → calories and protein up.
- High activity vs expected → partial credit added to calories.
If the numbers look wrong
- Confirm you logged weight recently. Sparse weigh-ins weaken the trend.
- Confirm Apple Health / Watch or Oura actually delivered last night’s recovery.
- Check that Adaptive Macros is enabled in Settings.
- Remember: Premium without a wearable still adapts from intake + weight, without the recovery component.
