Live Activity & Watch Sessions

During gym sessions Hammr surfaces your current exercise, set progress, and rest timer on Lock Screen and Dynamic Island — mirrored on Apple Watch.

Live Activity on iPhone

Tap Start on a workout and a Live Activity appears on your Lock Screen showing the workout name, current exercise, set progress such as Set 2 of 4, rest timer countdown when active, and a preview of the next exercise.

On iPhone with Dynamic Island, compact workout state lives in the island; expand for more detail. Live Activity persists when your phone is locked — that is the point. Tap it to deep link back into the app at the current exercise.

Apple Watch mirror

The Watch Workout tab switches to session view with the same exercise list and sets, live heart rate, and a rest timer synced with your phone. Start on phone, keep it in your bag, and control sets from your wrist.

HealthKit workout session on Watch records heart rate. End the workout and Live Activity dismisses while Watch shows a summary.

Why it matters

Most lifting apps do not ship Live Activity or Dynamic Island for gym sessions. Hammr keeps your next set visible without unlocking your phone between sets — a native iOS advantage alongside Watch sync.

Hammr is available on iOS with Apple Watch support.
