Rest timers, RPE, and plate math
Rest starts after a set, RPE is optional in Settings, and plate math rounds kg/lb so you load the bar without guessing.
These three tools sit inside the session UI. You shouldn’t need a second app for a rest clock or plate calculator.
Rest timers
After you log a set, the rest timer runs for that exercise’s rest value. It also appears on Live Activity and Apple Watch so you can rack the bar and look at your wrist (or Lock Screen) instead of unlocking the phone.
RPE
RPE (rate of perceived exertion, typically 6–10 in Hammr) is optional.
- Open Settings.
- Toggle RPE tracking.
- During sets, log RPE alongside weight and reps.
Prefill suggestions can use history plus today’s volume guidance. RPE is extra context — not a required field for a valid set.
Plate math
When you’re loading a barbell, plate math rounds to gym plates in kg or lb based on your unit setting. You still confirm the weight you actually lifted.
